What does a sample wedding day itinerary look like?

On average, wedding photography begins approximately 4 hours before the ceremony time and ends 4 hours after ceremony time. That is a good starting point when customizing your wedding day itinerary. These start and end times depends on your specific photography needs, whether you do a first look or not, the size of your bridal party, family, etc.

Will you be our photographer or do we get an associate based on the package we choose?

When you book 205 Photography, you are booking me (Jana) and you will see my smiling face on your wedding day. In the rare event that I am unable to capture your day, due to severe illness or injury, an appropriate substitute will be provided to take my place.

We love you! How do we book the date?

Awww, YAY!! All I need to book the date is a completed contract along with a 50% retainer to hold your date. Payment can be made online.

How long will it take before we see our wedding images?

I love providing a sneak peek on Facebook of your images as soon after the big day as I can. However, you will receive your full online gallery within 4-6 weeks of your wedding.

Are the images I receive proofs?

No, all the images you get in your online gallery (for an engagement session about 30-50 and for a wedding about 500-800) are fully edited and ready to print. I recommend www.mpix.com – it’s a great online consumer lab that prints nicely and will do justice to what you see on the screen.

Do I get to choose all my album photos?

Yes and No:) I find that looking through hundreds of images to choose the best ones that tell your story can be an overwhelming task for newlyweds! Therefore, I design your album, but I may ask you to choose a few MUST HAVES and let me do the rest. You can then delete spreads, swap images and make final adjustment. My couples rave that this makes their job so much easier and they LOVE the outcomes!

What type of albums do you offer?

Our premium wedding albums are 30 pages and measure 10″x10″. The cover options include custom canvas, leather, or linen. The pages are mounted flush and extend across the entire spread (no split at the spine). We also offer parent albums!! Come see me to view samples!

When and How do we receive our digital images?

When I send you the link to your online gallery you will also get an email instructing you how to download the images to your computer for safe keeping. No need for an outdated CD or DVD that can get scratched! Your photos can be viewed from any computer, smart phone, or tablet using your password-protected online gallery link which makes sharing and downloading super duper easy. You’ll also receive your images on a USB for safekeeping.

What kind of equipment do you use?

My main camera body is a Canon 5D Mark III, and my back-up body is a Canon EOS 60D. My favorite lenses for weddings are my 50mm/f1.2 and 100mm/f2.8 macro lenses, but I also use my 70-200mm/f2.8, 16-35mm/f2.8, and 24-70mm lenses.

How far in advance should we book?

Some inquiries I receive are for weddings more than a year in advance, but some months are more popular than others so these book up first. May, August, September, and October have traditionally been my busiest wedding months, and generally March-October are in high demand. I recommend finding out if your venue and photographer are available on your date and booking them first. If photography is very important to you (and I hope it is!), you will also want to book as early as possible even if your date does not fall into one of those busy periods to ensure you get the photographer you want.
